Colour and panache get free rein FROM early yesterday, the streets of Killarney rivalled the catwalks of London, Paris and Milan as fashionistas of all ages were to be spotted dashing about from home to hairdresser and even snapping up a few last-minute accessories to put the finishing touch to that all-important ladies-day outfit. Hats and headpieces at the ready, they turned out in force for the Dawn Milksponsored event at Killarney Races in the afternoon. The chic conclusion to Killarney’s four-day July festival, it is renowned as one of the most prestigious ladies day events on the fashion calendar in Ireland. Lisa Cannon, presenter and reporter with TV3’s Xposé, presided over proceedings are judge. Lisa confided that she had been on the lookout for “fashion that is both inventive and comfortable”. “A lady’s personality and elegance needs to shine through,” she said.
