Golfers raise funds in memory of Seani THIS week family and friends of Killarney man Seani McCarthy presented an impressive €12,385 to the Kerry Hospice Foundation. The sum was the proceeds of a hugely popular golf classic that took place in Seani’s memory on Mahony’s Point at Killarney Golf & Fishing Club on September 2. Seani, who passed away after a short illness, borne bravely, in September of 2015, was a keen golfer and member of Killarney Golf & Fishing Club. On Monday, Seani’s wife Margaret and friends presented the proceeds of the event to Ted Moynihan, chairman, Kerry Hospice Foundation, and Pat Doolan, chairman, Killarney branch, Kerry Hospice Foundation, at a function in The Dromhall Hotel. “We decided that it would be a fitting remembrance to hold the golf classic in memory of Seani and contribute to the great work of this Kerry charity,” said Seani’s friend Brian Moriarty.
