Wedding bells for Janie and John Joe BY EVE KELLIHER

K

ERRY provided a picture-perfect backdrop to the nuptials of Janie Golden and John Joe Biggins. Janie, from Reading, and John Joe, from Cong, Co Mayo, exchanged vows in Jacks’ Coastguard Restaurant, Cromane, which is where they also held their reception. “The venue was perfect for our intimate wedding with close family and friends,” said the bride. “The food was amazing and the location was just perfect.” Humanist celebrant Seamus de Burca officiated at the ceremony and Killarney photographer Sally MacMonagle captured the big day on camera. “The pictures were taken in the grounds of Jacks' and on the beach at Cromane,” said Janie. “Sally was great fun and captured the day in a very natural way.” Janie’s son Thomas Golden walked her up the aisle and John Joe’s son Ciaran Biggins was his best man. The bride’s nieces Charlie Penglase (Reading) and Tegan Golden (Coolbane West, Killorglin) took on the important role of flower girls. Janie’s mother Violet Golden was guest of honour. “My dad Maurice Golden, who died in 2003, was originally from Upper Tullig, Caragh Lake, Killorglin,” said Janie. The newlyweds, who will reside in Reading, are looking forward to the next time they visit family and friends in Kerry. “We spent two weeks in Ireland, staying for a few days in Cong after the wedding,” said Janie. “Our wedding was a very relaxed, perfect day and we couldn't have wished for anymore. The dance floor was never empty! The staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We and our guests had the most brilliant day there and we will treasure the memories. JP Murphy, the resident pianist, was absolutely brilliant.” • If you would like your big day featured in Killarney Advertiser Wedding of the Week contact Eve Kelliher on 064-6632215 or newsdesk@killarneyadvertiser.ie
