Powerful Charism

Saturday, September 21, 2019 Mr. Kasdi Haryanta, a senior teacher, taken at SMA Xaverius 1 (Forxa Exhibition)

Bringing out someone’s character in a photography is not an easy thing to do. After a lot of attempts, I ďŹ nally managed to capture his the charism and the emotions naturally. Beside the fact that this is a candid photography, I try to add more atmosphere by having a good contrast between the highlight and the shadows.

One picture is worth a thousand word. This really represents this photograph. With a backlight, I emphasize in taking his shadow.

I also called him so he looked back and I managed to capture his ‘unique moustache’ in shadow. In my perspective, this photograph tells the moment when someone had to go, so he give his back and say “See ya later!”

Monday, November 25, 2019 Patricia Yeh, my junior, taken at SMA Xaverius 1 (Teacher’s Day Ceremony)

With only 16-55mm lens, getting a good photograph from a ceremony can be really tricky because I cannot get really close to the object. Using a rule of third or golden ratio, added with foreground blur, I managed to get a good shot of the ceremony ofďŹ cer.

Mischievous Stare

Eye contact can be very powerful. Even though in daily life they are cheerful people, I still try to bring out mysterious as well as mischievous stares to build a small tension atmosphere. Good sunlight makes really good shadows that create a depth to their eyes.

Saturday, November 9, 2019 Roberto, my classmate, taken at All Nite n Day Hotel

While waiting for our turn to take a yearbook photo, I had an idea to take some photos in the shower. So, I gave some splash from the tap and told my friend to do any pose behind the glass. Since he posed like that, I try to make more shadow using my phone’s maximum bright. To create more mysterious atmosphere, I set my camera focus on the water drops.

Monday, June 10, 2019 Vince Hotel Bangkok Pratunam, taken at Vince Hotel’s Room

This photo was taken as an initiative to hone my photography skill.

Advertising means we need to introduce the identity of the product.

Instead of the photograph of the building or the room, I emphasize more on only the hotel card because it has the logo and the websites of the product. I also ďŹ ll the frame so it would not look boring.
