Title: Overcome Size: 70 x 100cm Medium: Woodcut Print, manual printing by hand, single colour

This message of this artwork is to be still amidst uncertainties.

When we are hit by Covid-19 pandemic globally, we are shaken and restless.

Wildflowers standing strong and dancing freely in nature; imply that need not to worry about tomorrow, be still and know that God is in charged.

This artwork is to portray a Bible verse through hand lettering and illustration. Be assured that Christ has overcome the trials and sorrows on earth, He is embracing us in the storm, we will not be afraid as His peace is within our hearts.

The artwork was based on a watercolour painting and brush calligraphy on my sketchbook, now adapted into a large-scale woodcut print.

Event: Creative Art Workshops Role: Art Instructor

I believe arts and creativity can make a profound impact on people’s lives. No matter their skill level. I love seeing both the young and old expressing their creativity through different types of art. Thus, in 2018, I began conducting creative art workshops to anyone interested in discovering the joy of making art. I taught modern calligraphy, watercolour and acrylic painting to public. It started off as my self-initiative, subsequently I were invited for collaboration with brands, such as, Artline, Popular bookstore, Claire Organics, Tedboy Bakery, Main-main and L’zzie Singapore for conducting workshops for them.

In my Loose Floral Watercolour workshop, participants were taught to paint with simple method that enables them to paint effortlessly. At the end of the class, the masterpiece can be used as framed artwork or greeting card.

Modern Calligraphy is a skill that enables you to bring out life in words. The workshop covers the basics of pointed pen copperplate calligraphy, which is fundamental to kick start one’s handlettering journey!

In conjunction of my 1 year of motherhood, I hosted a mother-daughter art workshop to celebrate Mother’s Day. It was a cozy and creative afternoon spent with 5 pairs of participants creating arts. Children were taught to make paper bouquets while teens and mothers were taught to do brush lettering and watercolour floral painting. It then ends with a buffet as refreshment.
