In recent times, he’s spent a couple of seasons playing softball in the US, which he describes as “an amazing experience”. “You get to play with other players from around the world in a tournament every weekend, which is unlike anything else in Australia,” he says. In July, Jemmott was part of the Australian team that took silver at the WBSC Men’s Softball World Championship in Canada. “It was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before in a tournament,” he says. “It was intense and exciting with plenty of laughs all throughout.” Jemmott is now back playing in his local club competition. “I’ll compete later in the year in the state titles, aiming to be selected for Queensland to compete at nationals and, fingers crossed, be selected in the next Australian squad for the upcoming tours.”
