Reinterpretation of the flat dome - Digital Fabrication. Research Center

[in progress] This research project is currently seeking a new reinterpretation of the ancient structure of the Thanks to the digital design, we can program a robot to place them, and secondly an flat dome used in different Spanish buildings in the XVII century, composed by a puzzle of carved stones. external frame compress the pieces to get them working by shape. Through parametric design, these geometries are designed and placed in the right position. The prototype is made of different plastics such as PLA, PETG and PC using 3d printing.

Makerhouse wanted to provide students with an opportunity to build their own sustainable “work cube” in A CNC milling machine can produce all the parts of a Makerhouse. With a simple manual and few people, the house can be assembled. It works with a simple any given urban context. Thanks to the Research Grant from the Ministry of Education, during the academic year 2016/17 I was leading a Parametric Design Workshop at the University of Alcalá. The workshop was being led in parallel with the drawing course: “Taller de Dibujo II” at the School of Architecture, which teaches mathematical procedures for the development of 3D graphics. The workshop provides tutorials and guides for participants using Grasshopper. Over 40 students took this workshop.
