Alumni Scrapbook 39 In Memoriam

The Kentucky Wesleyan Alumni Association hosts an average of 40 events a year throughout the Owensboro region, the Commonwealth and the nation to connect alumni and friends with the College and one another. We have enjoyed seeing many of you in person and through virtual events this year and appreciate your participation. Visit kwc.edu/alumnievents for upcoming opportunities to connect with Wesleyan and register, when applicable.

The Alumni Association's Board of Directors introduced Purple Wednesdays to connect our alumni across the digital divide. Each week, alumni and friends are encouraged to wear purple and post their photos on social media using the hashtags #PurpleWednesday and #TheWesleyanWay. We encourage alumni to join the fun and show their Panther pride! Participants are entered in weekly drawings.

Inaugural Alumni Give Back Day

Nearly 50 alumni and friends joined us on campus in June for our first Alumni Give Back Day. Our volunteers set up classrooms, wrote letters to prospective students, ripped up old carpet and refreshed landscaping at the Activity Hall.Their two-hour contributions had a $2,000+ impact! KWC Sponsors First In-Person Rooster Booster Since Reopening

Kentucky Wesleyan was the proud sponsor of the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce's first in-person Rooster Booster since the onset of the pandemic. The event served as the kickoff celebration for Kentucky Wesleyan's 70th year in Owensboro and included remarks by President Mitzel and a $7,000 matching gift challenge issued by trustee Greg Risch '93. The challenge raised over $14,000 in less than 36 hours and served as a great start to the fiscal year!

Class of 2021 Senior Gift

The Class of 2021 gifted the College with a painting of our iconic cupola lit in green to memorialize the lives lost to COVID-19. The beautiful painting was created by Rex Robinson '75 and now hangs in the Winchester Center. Alumni and friends enjoyed a special President's Gala on April 16 at Green River Distilling Co.. It was Advancement's first large in-person event since the pandemic began. The College honored our generous and loyal donors, and attendees renewed friendships, shared memories and celebrated The Wesleyan Way.
