Ways to Give
As we continue to strengthen our College and prepare for a refreshed strategic plan, we want to make you aware of several ways you can make an impact:

l Write a check payable to Kentucky Wesleyan College and mail to Advancement at 3000 Frederica Street, Owensboro, KY 42301.
Visit kwc.edu/give.
Call our office at 270-852-3142 or visit the Advancement staff in the Barnard-Jones Administration Building to work directly with a gift officer.
Gifts by Electronic Funds Transfer/Automatic Credit Card
Giving monthly, quarterly or otherwise through automatic drafts from your bank account or credit card may suit your desire to spread your annual gift(s) throughout the year. Many of our donors, including President's Circle members, have recurring gifts.
Gifts of Securities
Have you considered making a gift but don't want to use your cash on hand? Gifting stock you have owned for at least a year is considered appreciated, which means you nor the charity will pay capital gains taxes. This can be more beneficial than giving cash in some cases. The mission of Kentucky Wesleyan College is to foster a liberal arts education that nourishes and prepares students intellectually, spiritually, and physically to achieve success in life. To achieve our mission, Wesleyan relies heavily on gifts from private sources.
Beginning Jan. 1, 2021, the College will utilize a 7% administrative fee on all restricted gifts. Administrative fees are common practice in higher education fundraising, and college and universities throughout the country make use of these fees to cover the administrative costs of handling donor investments. It is not uncommon for these fees to be 14-15% at peer institutions.
For more information, including frequently asked questions related to the new Institutional General Administrative Fee, please visit kwc.edu/giftfee.
Unrestricted gifts made to the College for the areas of greatest institutional and athletic needs (Wesleyan Scholarship Fund and Panther Athletic Fund) are not assessed a gift fee.
A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA can satisfy a portion or all of your required minimum distribution (RMD). If you're 72 or older, rolling over a gift from your IRA may be most beneficial.
Gifts through your estate
Making a planned gift is a wonderful way to show your support and appreciation for Wesleyan and our mission while accommodating your own personal, financial, estate-planning and philanthropic goals. With smart planning, you may actually increase the size of your estate and/or reduce the tax burden on your heirs.
Other options to consider – Gifts through Donor-Advised Funds (DAF), Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA), Trust or Foundation; gifts of real estate, closely held stock in a corporation, gifts of objects like artwork, antiques and vehicles.
