KENTS CAVERN JAWBONE – 41,000 YEARS OLD
BRITAIN’S OLDEST HOME AND STEP BACK INTO THE STONE AGE
Kents Cavern is by far the oldest Stone Age dwelling in Britain. This jawbone is the most ancient early modern human fossil found in Britain. Stone tools excavated from deep in the cave are ½ million years old.
Follow in the footsteps of early explorers and discover a human story that goes back ½ million years, to a time, deep in the Stone Age, when prehistoric people lived amongst cave lions, hyenas, mammoths, cave bears and other Ice Age animals.
