Program Services Serves children in Boyle, Garrard, Lincoln, Jessamine and Mercer counties. A community-based program pairs volunteers with children to engage in 3–4 activities per month for one year. Volunteers are paired with children one hour per week during the school year to focus on academics, play board games, and enjoy one another’s company. Eligible children are 6–13 years of age at the time they are matched, and are typically from one-parent homes.

Program Services Provides an opportunity for low-income families to own their own home. Each family partners with volunteers in the community who donate their time, money, and skills to build affordable housing. Maintains an ongoing relationship with partner families, including financial counseling and home maintenance education. Accepts applications from residents of Boyle County who are able to repay an interest-free loan but whose income is insufficient to obtain a regular home loan. Applicants must be residents of the county for at least 6 months. Program Services Heart of Kentucky United Way is striving to not only help individuals who are hurting, but also to tackle the root causes of community issues so that more people can avoid crisis. Thirty- nine Heart of Kentucky United Way community partners serve Central Kentucky impacting our schools, workplace and neighborhoods.

Program Services Provides care and support to enhance the quality of life in the final stages of living. Hospice care is for the patient whose illness is no longer responding to aggressive curative treatment. Eligible clients include those who have been diagnosed with an illness that cannot be cured with a life expectancy of 6 months or less; who in agreement with their physician, desire to receive Hospice care; who desire to receive care in the comfort of their home or home-like setting and who live in Boyle, Garrard, Lincoln or Mercer counties.

Program Services Provides individuals with mental retardation or developmental disabilities with an alternative to institutionalized care. Administered by the State Medicaid program, this program allows individuals to remain in the community with support services provided by this agency. Many services are available including: community habilitation therapies, respite, behavior support, supported employment, staffed residence, as well as community living support. Program Services Services will be provided each Monday and Thursday from 5:30pm – 9:30pm at the Boyle County Health Department located at 448 South Third Street. Pharmacy services are provided through the Outpatient Pharmacy located on the Third Street entrance of Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center located at 217 South Third Street. Pharmacy hours are from 2:00pm – 6:00pm, Monday – Thursday, 7:00am – 6:00pm, Friday and 9:30am – 3:00pm, Saturday. Program Services Provides housing to low-income families in the community. Program Services Provides job placement assistance for adults with disabilities. Vocational assessment services help individuals determine appropriate career and training areas. Adults with mental retardation and/or developmental disabilities may be served on a daily basis through the Supports for Community Living Medicaid Waiver program to enable these individuals to work and to support their goals in the areas of independent functioning, interpersonal and socialization skills and community involvement. Those eligible for services include residents of Boyle or an adjacent county with a disability which results in a substantial hindrance to competitive employment. Program Services Assistance with rent, clothing, furniture, food, utilities and medical needs. Programs for kids include summer camp, day camp, after school programs, music classes, adventure corps and others. Program Services The Senior Companion Program recruits and trains active seniors to provide free in-home care and social support to the frail elderly. Services include socialization, personal care, light housekeeping, shopping, meal preparation, medication reminder, and respite care for primary caregivers. SCP services are provided free of charge.

Offers recreational and social opportunities and provides funds for respite services. Program Services Offers information and referral assistance, encouragement and support through case management and volunteer services for individuals experiencing a life-limiting illness. Individuals receiving Transitions services can be undergoing curative as well as palliative treatment. Consent for services must be given by the primary care physician involved in the client’s care.

Program Services Provides early intervention through special education, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy and parent education for children birth to 5 years of age with disabilities and developmental delays. Services are provided in the home, day care or at the center. Children from birth to 5 years of age with one or more disability or developmental delay are eligible.

Program Services Purpose: To provide free or low cost mammograms and gynecological exams to qualifying women. The program also offers semi-annually health screening fairs in April and October at local county health departments (Boyle, Casey, Garrard, Lincoln, Mercer and Washington)
