MONTAGE

Inner City High School for the Arts One of the main objectives of the Art School was to reshape the conventional high school education triptych of teaching, learning and research. Drawing on this goal, the vision for the project was to create a 21st century learning environment that fosters productive interactions with the art community while responding to the needs of students. Rethinking pedagogy for the twenty-first century is as crucial as identifying the new competencies that today’s learners need to develop. Traditional approaches emphasizing memorization or the application of simple procedures will not advance learns’ critical thinking skills or autonomy. To develop the high-order skills they now need, individuals must engage in meaningful enquiry-based learning that has genuine value and relevance for them personally and their communities. Real-world experiences merged with sustained engagement and collaboration offer opportunities for learns to construct and organize knowledge; engage in detailed research, enquiry, writing and analysis; and communicate effectively to audiences. Learning from Centre Pompidou and Lloyd’s building, high school is designed “inside out”. All of the service functions are removed from the interior and placed at the exterior of the building. This is not only allows for easy replacement and maintenance on the elevators, plumbing, or electrical facilities, but it frees up the interior to create an open and flexible plan that allows for uninterrupted activity for each level.

PARAMETRIC DESIGN

The idea is to tweak the existing structural faรงade by removing the recessed element of the windows and make them larger, expanding the glass to the full height of the room (floor to ceiling). Additionally, a second skin will be layered, as this skin will be located in front of the structural faรงade, operating as an element that provides the right amount of light through its openings placed depending on the location of windows. This shading device is necessary once the existing faรงade is changed, as there will be an excessive amount of sunlight in the core of the building. A perforated screen is introduced which will act as the shading device allowing for controlled sunlight to penetrate the core. By balancing light, perforated metal can allow the interior to be managed of heat build-up from the sun. By deflecting heat, less energy output is required from HVAC systems, providing a more consistent interior temperature. As a screening element, perforated metal decreases the amount of indoor lighting required. Depending on the size of perforations, the amount of natural light reaching the inside of the building can be managed. Large perforations allow more natural light to pass through the cladding, but still protect buildings that have large glazed elements from direct sunlight. In doing this they reduce the amount of solar gain, mitigating the need for energy intensive air conditioning systems.

LOGO DESIGN This is a gym logo design which is located in SHANGHAI. The gym owner wants to represent the unique part of the gym. My design concept is to express the power of monster footprint, which can show the charterer of gym. The font is from one of the most famous video games in the world which is World of WarCraft, which is the best combo with the logo.

Hilton design competition in Perth The local government wants design to think about sustainable design which is suit to the local community. This design concept is to challenge the Chinese tradition Courtyard with Australian heritage. Sustainable material and Chinese Courtyard can bring a new comfort life experience for local people. Glazing to External Walls

This project is located at Lot 105 North Ryde NSW. It is used for sales center of NBH project. NBH will become the centrepiece of the Macquarie Park community, featuring unrivalled resort-style facilities and handy proximity to transport, with the North Ryde and Macquarie Park stations on your doorstep, as well as the Epping Road bus corridor and the M2 motorway. Lachlands Line Display Suite should represent the concept of NBH project, which make people get the real feeling when living in NBH. In order to attract customers, materiality is one of the most important feature to achieve the goal such as Glazing to external walls. People walking nearby can see inside through glass. Timber Cladding can express the concept of NBH which is Nature.
