This course allows the student the freedom of learning the language of health care from home, accessing the course any time, day or night, using the internet. The student is required to attend an orientation and final exam on the Francis Tuttle (Rockwell) campus. This course is also eligible for college credit through OCCC . If college credit is desired, the student must be approved and coenroll with OCCC during orientation. Internet access and an email address are required.

Medical Transcription
Medical Transcription is listed in Forbes with a 13% increased need projected. Work at your own pace, with an instructor to guide you. The class follows AHDI standards to prepare the student for certification as a Registered Medical Transcriptionist (RMT).To become proficient and prepare for the RMT Certification, the student will need to progress through all three phases of course work and may need more than one session. PREREQUISITE: Medical Terminology, proficient in Word, and strong grasp of the English language, and Anatomy for Health Care Careers.

AUA: Advanced Unlicensed Assistant An AUA is a nurse assistant who has learned advanced patient-care skills. Students study patient-care skills and practice them in the lab before applying them in a clinical setting. After training, students must successfully pass the Oklahoma Board of Nursing clinical and written exams to receive AUA Certification. PREREQUISITES: COMPASS Reading Test, Current CNA card or verification form; Proof of Immunizations (MMR, HepB/waiver, TB, Varicella); Current CPR card. Proof of qualified alien status or U.S. citizen required for certification.

Certified Medication Aide (CMA)
Students may chose either regular or flexible format for this class. Flexible format is only available at the Cross Timbers campus. This course is designed for the CNA who wishes to take the state CMA exam. The course covers body systems, medications, administration and documentation requirements. The student must be proficient in reading, speaking and understanding English; and must provide picture ID and Social Security Card for certification. Background check will be done. PREREQUISITES: High school diploma or GED; current CNA card with 6 months work experience as a LTCNA.

Check Out Our New Flexible Format Schedules The following classes are available M-Th, from 9:00am-4:00pm. We provide the classroom and individualized instruction, YOU provide the time. Students design their schedule with the instructor to meet their needs for a morning, afternoon or all-day class. Students must meet the required hours of each class, but choose how many days and hours they attend each week. Certificates of Successful Completion are awarded at the completion of class hours and competencies. Some classes require an Oklahoma State Certification Exam after completion of course work.
