2024 Champions Pointe & Covered Bridge Golf Events Guide

4 golf season at Covered Bridge and Cham Clubs. The Professional Golf Staff has worked diligently this winter to create a fun golf schedule for you this season.

There will be a number of changes and improvements coming this season. The club has upgraded the Golf Genius software. Among other things, it will allow you to sign up online for all of the leagues at both clubs and almost all of the golf events. Our staff has also set out to put a new look in the shops.

The season will start off with a Moving Day for The Master’s Event at Champions Pointe and Covered Bridge. On Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, there will be special events, and the clubs will dedicate the weekends to Folds of Honor. In June, the Co-ed Member/Member has been upgraded, and a Championship Horserace Shootout will determine the Champions. Also, in June, there will be the Men’s Member/Guest Sign-up Event, featuring a 9-hole Best Ball competition. The winners of which will automatically be entered into the Shoot-out Horserace for the Riverbank Rumble, the new name for July’s Men’s Member Guest. The only way to ensure taking part in The Rumble is to sign up on that night, whether you play that night or sign up by other means.

The successful weekday leagues at both clubs will continue, with some improvements. At Champions Pointe, two new ladies’ leagues will be offered. On Mondays, a Ladies’ Match Play league will begin in late April. Also being proposed is a Champions Point new Ladies’ Fun League. This is for ladies either new to golf or just want to come out and enjoy companionship in this wonderful game. I’m sure that many of the ladies are looking forward to the Dual at the Bridge.

Of course, the Club Championships, the President’s & Vice President’s Cups, the Single Match Play Championship at Champions Pointe will all return. However, the most exciting new event will be the Ryder Cup-style The Bridge versus The Pointe Championship, set for October.

FITTING DAYS

This year there will be multiple fitting days at both Covered Bridge and Champions Pointe, featuring the top club manufacturers in the country. All companies require online sign up in advance. Open invitations will be sent out by the club periodically. This year Titleist, Callaway, TaylorMade and Mizuno will be coming to both clubs in alternating on the following dates:

Format: Four-Ball Match Play: If there are not enough teams to fill brackets, open matches will receive a bye. The defending champions in each division receive an automatic #1 seed and all other players will be seeded by handicap index, as of April 28th.

Eligibility & Rules: All teams who are eliminated in the first-round matches are eligible for the Vice President’s Cup. All aforementioned Rules, Divisions and Tees apply.

Play: Teams will be reseeded based upon their original seed in the President’s Cup

PGA JUNIOR SUMMER PROGRAMS

PGA Junior Summer Camps are staffed by Covered Bridge and Champions Pointe Professionals, however registration and payment are through the PGA website at pgajuniorgolfcamps.com. Register for 1 week or more of the following dates:

Eligibility: Open to all Junior golf members and the children and grandchildren of all Champions Pointe and Covered Bridge members. Juniors must be 17 years old or younger

OVERED BRIDG MEN’S LEAGUE SIGN UP

Come out to Covered Bridge and learn about the new and improved changes to the Thursday Night Men’s League which includes:

Membership in the league is a prerequisite for participation.

A one-time fee of $200 replaces weekly dues.

Conveniently register weekly teams online via Golf Genius.

Weekly team payouts will be determined based on league participation.

Engage in weekly events tailored for all skill levels.

Earn points based on performance each week.

Top contenders will vie in an exciting End-of-Year Horserace Shootout to determine the ultimate league champion.

Location and Time: Champions Pointe and Covered Bridge Golf Club

Format: Pick a PGA Professional playing in the Masters on Saturday. Combine your net score with their Saturday score to get your “team score. ”

Tees & Handicaps: 100% of each player’s handicap will be based upon tee played during the event.

Eligibility: Open to all Master, Wingfoot, US Open Members and guests with an easily verified Handicap.

Sign Up: On Golf Genius or by calling Champions Pointe or Covered Bridge

$25 Entry Fee Includes: Prizes for net and scratch flights, Closest to the pin on all par 3's, & Beat the Pro Contest. plus choice of pimento cheese or egg salad and fountain drink.

CHAMPIONS POINTE MEN’S LEAGUE SIGN-UP

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17TH, 5:30PM-7:30PM

Free Appetizers and No Cost for Event: Come out and sign up for the Wednesday Night League beginning on Wednesday, April 24th, at 5:30pm.

League length: 22 weeks or competition, with a different format each week. Single, 2 man and 4 man events

Cost: Prize Pool of $130 per person, for entire season, plus appropriate Green Fees.

Championship & Pay-out: Weekly players get 1 point for participation and additional points for 1st through 4th place finishes. Top 16 to 24 aggregate points getters entered into a Championship Horserace Shootout on September 25th.

Complementary Event: Free Appetizers open to all ladies interested in potentially two Inaugural Champions Pointe Ladies Leagues Potential Leagues: A Monday night 2-person Match Play League.

A second separate Ladies Fun league on Tuesday Nights – set up for those ladies new to golf and desire to learn the game or to just have fun and camaraderie in a non-competitive atmosphere. Open all Members and the public.

ALL interested Ladies come out and enjoy the complementary food and talk to the Director of Golf and Staff.

Mission: To raise money for Fold of Honor, a charity founded by an Air Force Officer, who is also a PGA Professional. The charity is dedicated to helping the families of those in the military who have lost their life in service to our country.

Event: During the holiday weekends the Director of Golf or the Operations Manager will be manning the 1st tee collecting donations. All donations that are $25 or higher will be eligible for a drawing for Golf equipment. Also, there will be Folds of Honor items to be given out during the weekend.

The professional staff is pleased to announce that beginning in May the clubs will be offering a Fun introductory clinics for Beginner Ladies Clinic (4 Lessons) Either Monday, Tuesday or Saturday Session $140 per person. These are designed for ladies who are new to the game or who have never had true instruction. In this clinic, we will be going over basic fundamentals for each facet of the game in a fun and energetic way.
