I must say that the past several issues of MiniWorld were excellent in all aspects. I was very sad to read the article about former Mini racer Gordon Spice who passed away. I met him during Mini@50 and I bought his book. Gordon had worked at Downton and he told me a few hilarious stories. A year later he invited me and my wife Corina to his house at Old Windsor where we met his charming wife Mandy. A er lunch we had a boat ride on the river Thames. Gordon was a great character. Keep up the good work at MiniWorld.

Much missed. Gordon Spice was a popular Mini racer.

Can't fi nd MiniWorld?

I am having trouble buying MiniWorld. I have bought every issue for about 20 years but my newsagent says she can't stock it any more.

Can you help me get a copy? Shane Towers, Quebec, Canada

Hopefully you have now found a copy of MiniWorld and will see this reply, Shane. Sadly we are hearing the same story from other overseas readers as it is ge ing harder to sell mags via retailers around the world. You can however subscribe to MiniWorld's paper edition at h ps://shop.kelsey.co.uk. You can save money over the paper copy by subscribing to our digital edition at h ps://pocketmags.com.

Also, clubs and traders can make money by selling subscriptions from their websites: Find out how at www.kelsey.co.uk/a liate [KD]

Mainstream Rover Cooper

Delighted to see the le er in December's MiniWorld from Mike Dowey about his Mainstream Rover Mini Cooper. I agree with him that this model is unfairly ignored, and is now rare in anything like original form.

Mine was bought from Somerford Minis in 2013 where it had been fully rebuilt, and brought up to Scotland where I have been enjoying it ever since. It is quite a lot more basic than an RSP in terms of trim and equipment but mechanically almost identical. Easy ways to spot one are the lack of tinted glass and sunroof and they have black, stripy sports crayon seats. They didn't come with spotlights or Cooper bonnet stripes but many had them retro-fi ed.

Never miss an issue of MiniWorld with a subscription to either the paper or digital editions.
