Silga Membership
All Seabrook Island Club (SIC) members are invited to join SILGA when they have a USGA handicap index. To establish a Handicap Index, a total of 54 holes must be played and posted to your scoring record. These scores can be made up of any combination of 9- or 18-hole rounds. Once you have posted a total of three 18-hole Score Differentials, a Handicap Index will be issued to you the very next day.
S ILGA members enjoy the opportunity to play in our weekly events: Wednesday Challenge Games (18 holes), Thursday Chix with Stix 9-hole Casual Golf and Friday 18-hole Casual Golf. In addition to weekly events, SILGA members are eligible to play in CALGA and Interclub Events as well as other Special Events, Scrambles and Tournaments scheduled throughout the year.
S ILGA membership dues are collected annually and are used to support SILGA events, pay out awards, and make appropriate donations. The annual membership fee is $30.00. Membership fees are billed to each member’s SIC account at the beginning of each calendar year, or at the time of joining SILGA and are nonrefundable after February 28th (per SILGA Bylaws).
Handicap Index
SILGA members maintain an active up-to-date USGA handicap index. During SILGA events, each player’s score is recorded in Golf Genius and automatically posted by the Pro Shop. Handicaps make the game fair for everyone and allow golfers at different levels to play with each other on equal terms.
Players with handicaps greater than 36 are welcome to play in SILGA events. However, individual handicaps will be capped at the maximum amount indicated below.
T he maximum handicap allowed for Major Tournaments is 36. The maximum handicap allowed for all other SILGA events is 40

On the first Wednesday of each month, an 18-hole individual low net score tournament is played from the Pelican Tees. The winner is titled “Ace of the Month”. All monthly winners play in a Shootout Tournament at the end of the year to determine the “Ace of the Year”. These monthly and year-end events are considered Major Tournaments.
