Other Additional Ladies Golf Associations

If you enjoy competition and/or the opportunity to meet and play with other golfers with similar handicaps, there are additional opportunities to do so through local and statewide ladies golf associations. Seabrook Island Club is a member of the Women’s South Carolina Golf Association (WSCGA), Carolinas Golf Association (CGA), and Charleston Area Ladies Golf Association (CALGA). Refer to the information below for a brief recap of each organization, general participation requirements, contacts and links to schedules, and information on how to sign up.

The Charleston Area Ladies Golf Association (CALGA) was formed in 1974 to promote the game of golf and foster fellowship. Events are scheduled at member clubs in the Charleston area and are generally scheduled on the third Monday or Tuesday of each month. SILGA membership is required to participate, and an active USGA Handicap Index of no higher than 40.4. The Women’s South Carolina Golf Association (WSCGA) is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1949 and its membership is made up of South Carolina golf clubs throughout the state. For WSCGA Two Day Championship tournaments, participation is restricted to South Carolina residents (verified by SC driver’s licenses). To participate in Championships, entrants must have an active 18-Hole GHIN Index no higher than 36.0, that is issued by a licensed club that utilizes the WSCGA GHIN Handicap Program. Provided the field is not full, players outside the specified limits may be accepted at the discretion of the WSCGA. For One Day tournaments, SC residency is not required. The Handicap-Index Limit is 40.4. If your index is higher, you are still eligible to play; however, you will only receive 40.4.
