as well as individuals working. The majority work in harmony to the greater good. Some are harmful chaos workers that need to be contained. Some are harmonic beings reestablishing balance. However, no one person or group runs the totality or can claim to be the full essence of the Community. The Community strives to be the body going forth into the world for its own evolution not to be the servant of one or a few of its microorganisms (individual or group). I want to turn a moment towards the history and sociology of the Community. Like any group of people going forth into the wilderness (in our case, the mundane), you must develop certain survival skills. The first is to “round up the wagons” at the first sign of danger against your tribe. This would be individuals and covens of the Old School. The majority of them stayed to themselves and saw to their own needs.) When you find your place in the wilderness, you set up the group and go about the business of providing for the group’s food, water, fire, shelter, etc. At this point, the group has to almost barricade itself from the unknown (the mundane and others) until it is established. As time passes, the group becomes more secure and the basics are in place, you start to venture out for small distances to become more familiar with the territory (“Scouts”) and see how you fit into the lay of the land (earlier witches entering into the mainstream such as Gardner, Buckner, Saunders, etc.) These scouting parties then into other groups of people (either indigenous or settlers like or unlike themselves). Then the groups start interacting on a group-to-group basis forming alliances (similar to the earlier festival emergence into the 1980’s and 1990’s). After these tribes start interacting with more groups, then you have a newly formed “Village” mentality emerging. At this point, most of the basic needs (including genetic needs) of the Village are being met from the interaction, trading, and marriage arrangements between the Tribes.
