I W E I W E I W E I V W E I Who said sports and fashion were polar opposites? Season combines Fashion and football for women in an originally male dominated environment. The bi annual magazine is full of editorials with football kits, styled in the football programme format. The zine describe themselves as "excitingly creative" and we certainly agree. The fresh take on imaging and magazine design in an a5 format exhibits diversity within the magazine industry. Even if you're not the biggest fan of either fashion or football, the articles and execution of their ideas is bright, colourful and stand out. Season, Issue 7 - the sustainability issue is out now and available to buy in Magazine Brighton. Be a follower @season_zine

Fashion, Politics and why journalism is an ever growing platform for young people (but you already knew that…) Let’s set the scene, the year is 1483 and the printing press has just been invented. Writers, Poets, Journalists and all the other creative scribblers around the world rejoice because they have a way of distributing their work without tirelessly copying out every ink spill, hieroglyphic and intricate drawing of our Solar System. Back here in 2020, we’re seeking inspiration from the writers themselves. Krishna Khakhria has written articles for Dazed, Women’s Republic as well as the big old BBC. Her work favours more of an online platform, but why does she think print is just as important?

Being from a more online background, what is your favourite print magazine? Im probably going to be a bit biased and say Dazed, yes I have written for their online before but their physical magazine is absolutley beautiful. They really display their articles and photography in such a creative way, thats something that cant be replicated online. What inspires you to write? Oh, all sorts of things! The weather, the political climate, what I am or I see someone wearing. It’s really important to know that my work inspires me Do you think the difference between online and print is significant? I’m not really sure, we’ve only just kind of started online journalism in retrospect. In one way, yes journalism is getting more accessible to everyone because its online, but the message that the writer wants to convey is added to by the layout of the page, accompanying illustrations and even the font. It’s quite hard to replicate that online.

Being a young journalist, what do you think the future is for you and print? It’s so hard to predict these kinds of things because journalism is so broad, what applies to me really doesn’t apply to everyone else! Hmm, maybe it might go in waves of favour, one year being print and one being online. Print will never die, it has too many sentiments and valuable properties! A bit like how people still print off their photos and hand them round the house, you know? Thank you so much for today Krishna! Do you have any magazines that just dont compare to the online edition that our readers need to check out? Check out little handmade zines for the beauty of that and personal favourties of mine, craft magazines! Frankie is one to check out (all available at Magazine Brighton!)
