Ian Byrne

Ian Byrne is the lead singer of The Elders. He was born in County Wicklow, Ireland. Apprenticed as a woodworker, he joined various bands at a young age, learning to play a wide variety of instruments. In 1987, Ian immigrated to the United States, marrying his Kansas City girlfriend, and Fox 4 reporter Kathy Quinn. He started his own woodworking business a few years later, and joined the Elders in 1998. Over the last decade, the Elders have become an international success, touring the world, playing to sold-out crowds. Ian and his wife have one son, Kian, and two daughters, Andreina and Kaitlin.
