Treatwell, (AKA Wahanda AKA Salonmeister is Europe’s biggest beauty-booking platform for consumers and a managing SaaS-tool for salon owners.

01. 2016 –

After the latest merger and renaming, I became a senior designer in the multinational design team, responsible for marketing communication. We’re lead from the Amsterdam office. The first big task was to roll out the rebrand, which was orchestrated by the London HQ and an external agency. Since then we have been producing fliers, banners, booklets, videos, user-manuals, landing-pages, contracts, and many other marketing creatives

DaWanda, Berlin Head of design, UI, marketing, repositioning DaWanda wanted to step up and become more prominent to a design savvy audience. My role was to build a (wonderful) design team, create campaigns (e.g. christmas), cover daily marketing materials (with the wonderful design team) and besides that, be leading part in transforming the brand.

Treatwell In early 2016 all the companies acquired by Wahanda were renamed to one name – Treatwell. With WeAreDesignStudio from London we developed a new brand strategy and design. Since then we refined the design permanently (by adding new photography, expanding the given illustrations, ... ) and produced a huge ammount of corporate and marketing materials for both market sides.


EXPERIENCE BOARD

SET OF ICONIC ILLUSTRATIONS

To visualise our user journey for both market sides. We made an experience board to see which touchpoints come across aor where we could fill gaps for new measures.

We needed a style of illustrations / icons, which goes along with treatwell‘s open shapes and wavy lines. It should be easy and quick to add new ones on the go.


Salonmeister Salonmeister was ready to leave everything behind and start (almost) from scratch. The main goal was to look more attractive to B2B customers as a reliable software provider.


STRATEGY A key-part in the Salonmeister redesign was the workshop i set up with the whole company. Thus we got input from all departments, whether it was sales, customer care, management or development.

As the „desireframes“ were made with illustrator, we could quickly style them and turn them into final designs.

DaWanda At DaWanda (3.2011-12.2012) I became the head of design of an existing two people team. The goals were to lead the redesign, scale the team to cope with the growing tasks from product and marketing.

DaWAnda Xmas One of the hardest parts at DaWanda was to think about Christmas – in August. In 2011 we used two existing DaWanda characters and added a whole world around them. The illustrative toolbox that emerged on the go, gave us the possibility to react almost immediately on various spontaneus demands from all sides.

The cheeky bubble for marketing text

Products should be in the center of attention. Therefore we chose muted colors. Marketing colors in headlines are taken from contrasty elements in the pictures.

DaWanda Redesign The core quests of the DaWanda redesign, was to find a scalable and unique language, that conveys the passion from the DIY world and still can be applied easily in print as well as online and mobile. The hardest nut to crack was the new typeface – Bodoni Egyptian, which eventually gave the company a totally new outlook and the possibility to cast the graphic diversity into one cohesive unique style.

Lieferheld Lieferheld was a four months freelance gig from 12.2010 - 03.2011. The main goal at LH was to develop an easy graspable identity that combines the quickness of delivery, the iconic images of comic with a room for humor and still generating trust in the quality of the food and product itself.

Comic Invasion Berlin The CIB is an independent comic festival in Berlin since 2011. We wanted to have an easy applicable look and a logo that serves the purposes of classic comic, trashy invasion and an urban Berlin. Each year, another illustrator is invited to decorate the communication materials with their key illustration.. The festival had about 6000 visitors the last years and is suported by the senate of Berlin and by a European fund.
