Location: Nashville, TN

Style: Modern Farmhouse

Objective: Create a relaxing retreat with a space to create music

Overview:

Create a relaxing retreat for a young musician who spends most of her time traveling.

Concept:

This modern farmhouse loft is meant to reflect the clients southern heritage while incoperating a feminine touch that also pays homage to country music. The design will accomplish this by utilizing warm neutral colors, cozy textiles and traditionally feminine prints such as floral to create the modern farmhouse aesthetic. Over the space should be a welcoming space for guests to gather while also providing a relaxing retreat.

All communal areas are located up front andto take advantage of the natural light

Washer and dryer are located in master closet

Coat closet provides seperation between entry and main living area

Guest bedroom is set up as a home recording studio

Master bedroom is located to take advantage of the natural light

Floorplan

Key Design Features:

+ Reclaimed wood beams are used to ground 20ft ceilings

+ Soft feminine such as blonde woods, pastels, and floral patterns create a soft welcoming space

+ Black is sprinkled around to contrast against the soft palette

+ The kitchen design is kept minimal to prevent the space from looking “heavy”

+ Space was designed to not block out the natural light from the windows

ADA Home

Location: Palm Springs, CA

Style: Hollywood Regency

Objective:

Overview:

Design for a couple who recently retired early. They want to combine Hollywood Regency with their homes Mid-Century architecture.

Concept:

The goal is to blend two very unique styles in order to create a balance between Hollywood Regency and Mid-Century Modern while keeping the goal of aging in place. To do so, the lux, glamorous materials of Hollywood Regency will mixed with the homes Mid-Century architecture to blend the styles with- out overpowering each other. The design will also include to enough space to comply with ADA.

Floorplan

In both bedrooms, space is left around beds for potential use of wheel chairs and walkers

The laundry is combined with the bathroom for easy access, saving of floorspace, and extra space for folding

A 3' turning radius is kept in the main circulation areas

Key Design Features:

+The Mid-Century and Hollywood Regency styles are mixed through the use of warm woods, glossy + matte finishes, and metallics

+ The millwork and furnishings are kept simple to keep the wallcoverings and tile the stars

+ The bathroom consists of both a normal tub and curbless shower for accessibility

+ Laundry is located in the bathroom to save space and counter runs above the machines for easy folding.
