Copy Cat? So, we are all familiar with controversy going on based on whether or not Instagram has been copying snapchat. People are wondering whether or not it’s legal and if it’s actually right. I did some research on whether or not it is legal for Instagram to basically be copying snapchat, and this is what I found out. There is no patent on the “Snapchat Story” and if there was Instagram technically wouldn’t have done anything wrong. The “story” on snapchat is basically just a video form of the “status” on facebook. Therefore since there are differences in the “story” on Instagram, and the “story” on Snapchat, they are considered different things. Now, from a different viewpoint, is this the right thing for Instagram to do? Many people agree that Instagram should be original and create a new concept. For example, “I don’t know if I like it. Each platform should have its own purpose…” said Edsta about the new Instagram stories. In other opinions, the Instagram “story” is better than Snapchats. “Even though Instagram has blatantly copied Snapchat’s Stories, I’m probably 100x more likely to use it.” Matt Brian tweeted. Besides stories, Instagram recently came out with a new update that enables you to send instant picture messages that disappear. With the exception of a few variations, this is the exact same thing as snapchat. The few variations are the exact same ones that the Instagram “story” contains. In my opinion, Instagram needs to be more creative. They need to find their own way to become a trend again and stop trying to steal Snapchat’s thunder. The only thing that adding these new updates is helping them with is the people that don’t have or use Snapchat and getting more hate.

Fashion: Then and Now

Fashion has changed many ways in the past 300 years. From the year 1700 to 2016. There has been so many different kind of fashions trends through our history, especially for women. 1700-1750 During the 1700s woman would wear formal dresses that consisted of a stiff mantua, petticoat, and sometimes a apron. The more relaxed dresses was the robe à la français, a looser-fitting dress with flowing pleats from the soldiers. The most informal was unfitted in the front and back called a sacque. Women would also wear corsets, long-wasting and cut with a narrow back, wide front, and soldiers straps. The most fashionable would pull the shoulders back until the shoulder blades almost touch. Skirts were worn over domed hoops, which were later displaced in formal courts by side hoops and panniers. In early years the colors were darker more somber colors for more mature women, younger woman wore brighter colors. This fashion was very influenced by European culture.

1750-1800

1800-1850

Women's fashion was based on the Empire silhouette, dresses were fitted to the top of the torso then loosely flowed. The early 1800s fashion is very different from the rest of the 1800s. Later in the 1800s the dresses were tight against the torso from the natural waistline up and had a full skirt below. The early dresses was fitted at the bodice and high on the waist. The skirt was not full but just naturally flowed. .

By the late 1700s fashion began to change very much. In 1750 court dresses would be very extravagant and intricate styles, they included hoop skirts, panniers, corsets, etc. But casual English dresses would be very simple and practical, very good for outdoor lifestyle. In the 1760s there were new strapless stays cut high at the armpit, a stiffened-bodied gown. In the 1770s woman wore robe à la française and robe à l'anglaise , sack-brown gown and close-bodied gown. Also tall hair and hairdresses. The gowns became very low-neck and were worn over a petticoat. Also the hair became very tall and many women wore wigs.

1900-1950

With the decline of the bustle, the sleeves began to get bigger and a hourglass shape became popular once again. The silhouette was one of a confident women, a full low chest and curvy hips. The corset of this era helped to create this figure. Blouses and dress were full in the front and the neckline was supported by a very high collars. The train would brush the floor flowing behind. By the end of the era the skirt hit the ankles. Wide brimmed hats became popular for women trimmed with feathers. Wavy hair became very popular. By the end of the decade had smaller drooping brims.

1950-2000

By the 50s and 60s womens fashion had changed drastically. Women were wearing pants and shorts and other things that they never did before. The prints were bolder, colors brighter, and mismatched patterns. One staple thing was the mini skirt which would continue to be trend to this day. Designer Mary Quant and designer Andre Courreges, who also claimed the right to the skirt, introduced it. The miniskirt is six to seven inches above the knee. It became very popular. By the 80s expensive was better, woman were the image of wealth. Clothing was covered in glitter, sequins, diamonds, etc. Makeup was very bright and worn very heavily, you could never have too much. The many different kinds of dresses, jackets, pants, jeans, blouses, shirts, headbands, and more shaped this era. Going into the the 90s clothing became more neutral and simple and led to the fashion of the early 2000s. But colors were still popular, especially neon. But this decade was the decade that help begin the transition to today's fashion.

11

2000s-Today

Fashion of the past has helped to shape the fashion and will continue to shape the fashion of the future. Today's fashion is even bigger, better, and more extravagant. It will continue to change and continue to become even better than it is. Im very excited to see how fashion will change in the future and what will be the new trends.

Dress Codes Dress codes. Many school have them. A lot of schools avoid trouble by just having kid wear uniforms. But many people think dress codes are gender bias. To be honest so do I. It’s seems that these days girls can’t wear anything without getting judge or breaking “dress code”. Girls can violate dress codes for the simplest things. Why are mainly girls given such strict dress codes. Sexism in schools is a real thing, and needs to stop.

Bon Appétit

Let’s also accept the fact that most people are hungry every time! It’s important to know food to eat, especially if you’re new to a place. So, here are some countries (because there’s no way I’m going to put all 196 countries down) and some of their traditional or famous foods,

United States of America (USA) ● Burgers- sandwich consisting of one or more cooked patties of ground meat, usually beef, placed inside a sliced bread roll or bun and is often served with cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon, onion, pickles, and condiments such as mustard, mayonnaise, ketchup, and relish. ● Corn Dogs- a hot dog coated in a thick layer of cornmeal batter on a stick. ● Buffalo Wings- a chicken wing section (wingette or drumette) that is deep-fried, unbreaded, and coated in vinegar-based cayenne pepper hot sauce and butter.
