PA R T O NE : T H E E S S E N C E Our Winter Coll ection brings a certain essence refl ecting the jo y present in our women in Uganda. Their ability to find jo y in the mids t of h ardship is trul y inspiring. Hel en, one of our newes t designers, was a true exampl e of jo y as soon as she s tepped into our headquarters. With every interaction, we h ad another glimpse of her cheerful spirit and warm persona lity. Her jo y is simpl y conta gious. You would never guess hidden behind her smil e are s tories of h ardship and ch a ll enges. Her husband passed awa y and Hel en is the sol e provider for her four children. She loves to sing and dance, and her jo y is found in her work and the ability to provide education for her children. Our yellow Meadowsweet necklace was created by Hel en, and perfectl y captures her warm smil e and compelling jo y.

PA R T T W O : T H E G A L L E R Y In The G a ll ery, we are displa ying some of our mos t intricate designs yet. We are in cons tant awe of the creativity found in each of our designers. Women like Ch arity h ave put their creativity on displa y since da y one. When she entered our program, she h ad never roll ed beads before, however, her attention to details and willingness to l earn a llowed her to pick up the craft quickl y. Because of her creative persona lity and e ye for design, we h ave given her the responsibility of making some of the more difficult designs, such as our la yered Truffl e necklace. She is fearl ess in using new colors and l earning new s tyl es. Ch arity’s dream is to own a clothing shop where she can sell second-h and clothing as well as her own designs. Her creativity and ambition are admirabl e and we h ave no doubt she will be successful.

The Classics section emph asizes the consis tency of h ard work and great design. We are cons tantl y motivated and encoura ged by our Ugandan designers’ capacity to work h ard. Eveline, who made this season’s yellow Timber necklace, shows consis tency and determination in everything she does. Her goa l is to save enough mone y to attend a University, earn a degree in education, and become a teacher. We are inspired by her work-ethic and excited to s tand a longside her as she pursues her dreams.
