JOIN US IN FRANCE Join us for four days of creating beautiful imagery, being inspired by the gorgeous landscape, making new friendships and absorbing valuable information to elevate your photography business to the next level. We will gather at the beautiful Chateau St. Julien nestled within a landscaped, walled estate in the village of St. Julien l’Ars just south of the Loire Valley near the ancient city of Poitiers. This sixteen bedroom romantic, castle style chateau will be the stunning background of our beautifully styled photo shoots and the home of our stay and intimate meals provided by our gourmet chef. Kayla Barker, along with her speakers and sponsors, want you to leave the workshop feeling rejuvenated and inspired. This workshop is not just about growing your photography skills and business, but it also focuses on finding your artistic style, curating your work, developing relationships and a community and learning to love yourself and your work. We want this will be a life changing experience for you as an artist and photographer.

KAYLA BARKER - PHOTOGRAPHER, KAYLA BARKER FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY Kayla Barker is a fine art film photographer based in Texas specializing in destination weddings and organic, relaxed portraits. In the past seven years, she has photographed celebrations in New York, Paris, Los Angeles, the Caribbean to name a few. She is in The Knot Hall of Fame, a Style Me Pretty Little Black Book Destination Member, was nominated in Belle Lumiere’s Film Photographer of the Year Award and she has been featured in publications and blogs such as The Knot, Style Me Pretty, Magnolia Rouge, Utterly Engaged, Grey Likes Weddings, Junebug Weddings, 100 Layer Cake, Belle Lumiere and more.

ALICIA RICO - FLORAL DESIGNER, BOWS + ARROWS Dedicated to the creation of beauty via the art of floral design, Alicia of Bows + Arrows works with her environment, gathering inspiration from the landscape and working with seasonal flora. Alica earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Painting. Her formal art training informs decisions of composition, color and texture. Her work has been seen in printed publications including Martha Stewart Weddings, Southern Weddings, Magnolia Rogue, D Magazine, Lucky Magazine, Traditional Home as well as online publications such as Once Wed, Style Me Pretty, Design Sponge, Martha Stewart Weddings, Slow Flowers, The Knot and many more.

SARA RUSSELL - BLOGGER & SOCIAL MEDIA EXPERT, WEDDING SPARROW Sara Russell knew that her passion for fine art and love for all things tangible and film should be out there via pretty pictures. In just 18 short months, Wedding Sparrow has grown from a tiny one-person blog based in the UK to a multi-award winning international team of fine art lovers and she couldn’t be more proud. Sara loves how passionate readers and vendors are for quality products and services and hopes this shines through in the blog. Sara is the world’s biggest wedding obsessive and is usually knee deep in wedding pretty at Wedding Sparrow HQ. You’ll find Sara blogging away, attending events, styling shoots and planning weddings with international styling house, Pearl & Godiva.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS WHAT ALL IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE? This workshop is all-inclusive and includes transportation from Poitiers, your three night stay at the chateau, three dinners, two lunches and three breakfasts made by our gourmet chef, workshop time with Kayla and the speakers, three or more styled shoots for you to learn from and use from your portfolio, a new headshot taken by Kayla, a portfolio review one-onone with Kayla, gifts from our sponsors and a post-workshop one hour Skype session with Kayla to review your photos, film scans or updated portfolio. CAN DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHERS COME? Absolutely! This workshop is open to both digital and film photographers who are beginning or experienced shooters who want to grow their business in wedding, lifestyle, portrait or fine art photography. Kayla may be shooting some digital along with film so you can see the composition, crop and posing of some images. Most parts of the workshop will be relative to both digital and film shooters. CAN NON-WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS COME? Please come even if you are not a wedding photographer! We will have a portrait styled shoot and we will be discussing how to incorporate the fine art approach to portrait photography. WILL YOU PROVIDE FILM? We will provide a few rolls of film, but we recommend you bring a large stash of your own to document your travels! WHAT LANGUAGE WILL THE WORKSHOP BE IN? The workshop will be spoken in English.


WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO GET THERE? We will be providing transportation to the workshop from the city of Poitiers, 15 kilometers west of the chateau. You can opt to rent a car and drive, fly into the Poitier Airport or take the TGV (high speed train) from Paris to Poitiers which takes around 90 minutes with trains departing from both Charles De Gaulle International Airport and from the Gare Montparnasse. We want to make your travel as easy as possible, so please contact us with questions! WHAT ARE THE SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS? The rooms at the chateau are double and triple occupancy, so be prepared to make new friends as you may be sharing a room or bathroom with someone. We will do our best to room you with a friend or someone you feel comfortable with. You can bring a spouse or a friend that is not attending the workshop, but would like to travel with you. The cost of bringing a guest is $850 and includes their transportation from Poitiers, lodging and meals with the group. CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE SPECIAL DIETS? We have a chef customizing a special menu for us, so please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions and we will do our best to accommodate you.
