Advocate takes home MEDIA EXCELLENCE award The Lindsay Advocate has won the Media Excellence award through the Lindsay + District Chamber of Commerce’s 2020 Awards of Excellence. As well, the Advocate’s design team, Barton Creative, has won the Marketing Excellence award while The Advocate Podcast sponsor, Jason Ward of Wards Lawyers has been named COVID-19 Hero. This was a special award for 2020 for Ward’s near-daily posts on explaining complex government programs and health unit directives in plain language for the community, especially at the height of the pandemic. Since the Advocate was founded nearly three years ago it has won New Business of the Year, and an Innovation Award through the Kawartha Lakes Community Futures Development Corporation. The Chamber, partnering with Cogeco, recognized local individuals, groups and businesses that go above and beyond to provide innovative products or services, develop exceptional new practices, and improve the community for all.
