Our work ethic, our morale, and our business perspective are heavily influenced by the folk-tale of the Jumping Mouse. This mouse sacrifices the vision and way of life with which he was comfortable and familiar in order to become something greater. Katz Coffee employees are encouraged to find creative solutions, make independent decisions, and become someone greater. We learn and grow with one another and, as a result, our company has continued to grow over the years.
Our commitment starts with our farmers: our friends in Colombia, Guatemala, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Peru, and the many other countries from which we source our beans. Each of our sources prioritizes environmental and qualitative responsibilities. We make every effort to buy directly from the farmers and cooperatives in order to not allow our beans to pass through a third set of hands. Since 2003, we have used these beans to create proprietary blends for Houston’s and now Texas’ most highly-acclaimed and discriminating chefs and restaurateurs to whom we offer education, menu consulting, equipment sales, service, and training. Our team can also assess your equipment needs based on your projected growth as well as assist you with the right equipment choices and the most efficient equipment layout and installation. OUR COFFEES Sourcing the highest quality beans from all over the world, we roast each varietal specifically to bring out the absolute best in each bean: acidity, complexity, and unique flavors. All of the roasting is done in-house, to order. Coffees are available in a variety of formats ranging from bulk configurations to fractional packs in various sizes.

READY-TO-DRINK ORIGINAL COLD BREW IN A BOTTLE Our cold brew is unlike anything you will find on the shelves. We use a patented cold brew extraction process that yields an incredibly smooth and flavorful product. Our coffee is brewed using filtered water with the precise mineral content to compliment the coffee and the brewing process. Our recipe uses a higher percentage of coffee to water than the other products on the market. This yields more flavor into the final product. This is why the taste profile is richer, and more complex than the competition. We stand behind the quality of our product. Our Quality Control team tastes the product during each step of the process from the initial choice of the green beans, to the roasting of the beans, and is active on the bottling line ensuring quality from start to finish.

How to brew Cold Brew You’ll need...

Clean Mesh Strainer 1 Paper Filter 1 String Measuring Pitcher 5lb Bag of Course Ground Coffee 14qts Cool, Filtered water Label

Place reusable strainer inside bucket stretching elastic band around outside edge of bucket. Place paper filter inside strainer opening as wide as possible. Pour entire 5lb bag of coarse ground coffee into paper filter. Pour 7 quarts cool water onto grounds saturating evenly. Tie top of paper filter 2 inches from top with string making sure to close tightly. Pour an additional 7 quarts cool water outside of the paper filter. Close lid and label bucket with the date, time and your initials. Store at about 75 degrees Fahrenheit for 24 hours. After 24 hours, pull strainer up making sure to drain all liquid into bucket. Pour Concentrate into containers labeling accordingly (concentrate OR Diluted) and refrigerate. Cold brew is good for 2 weeks. Dump contents of strainer into garbage and wash strainer with hot soapy water and hang to dry, wash toddy bucket and spigot.
