How To Change The Avast Behavior Protection?


There are several features which Avast provides to its users such as Behavior shield which protect your data, files, and email from the virus. The Shield components look for the suspicious behavior on your computer. When this shield detects an abnormal condition, it performs the action which you selected in the advanced settings. You can make the changes to the shield in the Avast antivirus by going through the steps given below. You will find Avast’s orange and white icon in the notification area, select it and then right-click on the “Open Avast user interface.” Now in the program’s left pane, there is an option “Real-Time shields,” click on it and select “Behavior Shield.” 2. To disable the service tap on the “Stop” button or tap on the “Start ” button to enable the Behavior Shield, if it is disabled previously.

If you want to change how the feature monitors suspicious behaviors select on the “Expert Settings.” Now select the “Main settings” in the left pane. You have to clear the boxes beside “Monitor the system for low-level Rootkits.” To enable or disable the items “Monitor the system for Malware-like behavior” and “Monitor the system for unauthorized modifications,” select the “Action to take” drop down the list and choose the action you want Avast to take when any suspicious behavior takes place. You can also select the option “Auto Decide” to automatically choose the best option by Avast itself. Tap on the “Allow” button to occur behavior normally and tap on the “Block” button to restrict the behavior or “Ask” to get prompted to take an action.


4. You can select “Trusted Process” situated in the left pane to add any program that you want Avast to ignore. Click on the “Browse” button to choose the program file you want to trust and click “Open” to add it to the list. You can click on the “Delete” button to remove any program from the list. Click on the “Ok” button which is at the bottom of the window to return to Avast and also to save your Behavior Shield settings.
