Once again due to lockdowns, Glenaeon was unable to hold its annual Family Fair & Art Show event at Castlecrag. However, the Class 4 team put their heads together and created three online fundraising events.
The Glenaeon Art Show
The Glenaeon Art Show again went online lead by Zach Zeus with the support of Sabine Simmonds, Karen Ward, Soufin Ewins and Emma AcklingJones with nearly 200 pieces for sale.
The Silent Auction
The Silent Auction was transformed to an online auction with three weeks’ open bidding this year. A fantastic effort by all involved enabled an incredible $5,095 to be raised from 24 items kindly donated by the generous students, staff, parents and broader school community.
We would like to take the opportunity to thank each and every one of you who helped bring this important fundraiser to fruition. In particular we would like to thank the Class 4 parents: James Fordham, Julie Hutton and Susie de Zoete for taking up the mantle of coordinators; the assistance of Clare Gordon and Jonathon Rush; the class parents and teachers for inspiring the children and bringing the artworks to completion; the creative's who kindly donated individual pieces and finally, Melony for showcasing the artworks at Castlecrag campus and organising collection of the pieces in line with all the restrictions.
The Glenaeon Raffle
The Glenaeon Raffle raised $7,030 with over 27 prizes to be won and we are extremely grateful for all the may kind donations received. Thanks to the raffle team members Alex François, Jochen Schweitzer and Karina Schlieper for their dedication to getting this up and running again this year.
2021 Midwinter Ball – A Touch of Green
World Environment Day was the day set for our Midwinter Ball this year, held at Hunters Hill Sailing Club, one of the few venues that were available for a large crowd to get together.
The Silent Auction drew many bidders and we successfully raised $7,490 on the night.
It was a wonderful evening, successfully raising over $10,000 for the school. Overall it was a memorable way to reunite as a community and a great evening for everyone to have a fun time together.
