NSS Veterinary Statement

Former Columbia Breeder to evaluate fleeces at National Wool Show

An ICVI (Interstate Certificate of Veterinary Inspection) and an Import Permit are required on all Sheep and Goats entering Wyoming unless excepted in Section 7(a)(i), (ii) or (iii). The certificate shall include the statement:

"All animals in this shipment are free from Foot Rot and Ringworm (Club Lamb Fungus) and originate from a flock/herd that has not had Scrapie in the past five years."

Any sheep brought into the Archer Event Center will require a health certificate with this statement. The sheep included are: • Consigned sheep for the NSS • Junior Show Sheep (in and out) • Sheep brought in for a workshop, demonstration, pop-up • Sheep in trailers • Sheep that will be transported and/or exchanged on premises

Consignors: bring a copy of your health certificate for each sheep consigned. NSS Veterinarian is Show Veterinarian is the Frontier Vet Clinic from Cheyenne – C/O Dr. Samantha Vernon, 307-634-7255. Show Branding Inspector will be David Hansen from Cheyenne, 307-331-0128.

Dave Julius from Box Elder, South Dakota will judge the fleeces at this year’s National Wool Show. Dave should not be a stranger to CSBA members as he was a successful breeder and member for many years. Currently, he and his wife Carla are raising Natural Colored sheep and Rambouillets with emphasis on big bodied sheep with natural thickness that carry a uniform finer fleece. Dave exhibits at the Midwest Stud Ram Sale in Sedalia, the North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, as well as the National Rambouillet Show. We are honored that Dave has agreed to judge our Wool Show.
