Ribbons come in different formulations for a variety of applications. Resin ribbons produce the most durable printing and are required for use on Mylar jewelry tags and labels. Below, we list our bestselling resin ribbons. Kassoy stocks wax and hybrid ribbons as well—call for availability. Ribbons come on different sized rolls. Standard sized printers, i. e. Citizen CLS700, take larger diameter rolls than light-duty compact printers. Some printers require ribbons with the ink side of the ribbon wound on the outside of the roll; others require the ink side facing in. Kassoy’s ribbon part numbers indicate inside or outside by adding an “I” or an “O” as the next-to-last character. A ribbon must be at least as wide as the part of the label on which you are printing. Printer manufacturers further recommend that you minimize print head wear and maximize printer life by using a ribbon at least as wide as the full label width.
