Ingatestone’s Summer Show
Believe it or not we’re only 6 or 7 weeks away from the Summer Show!
An integral part of the show, and one of the most popular events, is the Horticultural Society’s competition. Displaying exhibits of all types of flowers, pot plants, fruit and vegetables. Plus, handicraft classes such as knitting, upcycling, painting and photography. There are also domestic classes including jams, honey, cakes, scones and handmade bread, rolls, homemade wine and gin or vodka. Anyone can enter, why not have a go yourself? You might win a prize! You don’t even have to be a member, anyone can enter including children (for which there are special categories including handwriting, modelling, painting, flowers etc.) and entry forms will be available in
Ingatestone Library and at Patrick Greens in June.
Of course, you could always join the Horticultural Society, it is only £5 per person and apart from the three shows a year, trips and events you get 10% off Abercorn’s and Greenbrook’s garden centres, effectively it pays for itself!
