Marco Ardigo took the lead in the final and he gave his all. Unfortunately, he was unable to fend off the attacks of De Conto and Ardigo who were quicker, but he never gave up.

Aged 44 Rubens Barrichello took up the challenge of racing in the KZ1 World Championship against the cream of kart drivers. The friendly former F1 driver made stunning progress that didn’t go unnoticed.

HILTBRAND Des chronos à la finale, Pedro Hiltbrand a démontré qu’il était bien le plus fort à la Super Coupe Internationale KZ2. Alors que CRG a réalisé le quarté dans l’ordre dans cette catégorie, l’Espagnol ajoute un 3e titre consécutif à son palmarès après le Championnat d’Espagne et le Championnat d’Europe OK.
From practice to the final Pedro Hiltbrand proved that he was the quickest in the International KZ2 Super Cup. CRG filled the first four places in this category, and the Spaniard added a third consecutive title to his results after winning the Spanish Championship and the European OK Championship.
In qualifica fino a la finale, Pedro Hiltbrand hanno dimostrato che era il più forte in KZ2 Internazionale Supercoppa. Mentre CRG a realizzato il quartetto in ordine in questa categoria, lo spagnolo ha aggiunto un terzo titolo consecutivo al suo nome dopo il campionato spagnolo e il Campionato Europeo OK.

FEDERER Trop loin de Pedro Hiltbrand pour l’inquiéter pour la victoire, Fabian Federer confirme son titre de Champion d’Europe KZ2 avec cette 2e place. C’est encore un bon résultat pour le moteur Modena, qui s’intercale entre un Maxter et un TM.
Although Fabian Federer was never in a position to pose a threat to Pedro Hiltbrand for victory he confirmed his KZ2 European Championship title with second place. It was another good result for the Modena engine which spilt a Maxter and a TM.

HAVERKORT Kas Haverkort a passé la vitesse supérieure en finale pour remporter la dernière épreuve du Trophée Académie. Au classement général, le Néerlandais a ainsi pu s’intercaler en 3e position, entre le Suédois Alfred Nilsson et le Belge Xavier Handsaeme, vainqueur au Portugal.
Kas Haverkort upped the pace in the final to win the last event in the Academy Trophy. In the overall classification, the Dutchman slotted into third place between Alfred Nilsson from Sweden and Belgian Xavier Handsaeme who won in Portugal.
A perfect final
Kas Haverkort trascorso la velicità superiore in finale per vincere il round finale del Trofeo Accademia. In classifica generale, l’olandese è stato in grado di intervenire in terza posizione tra il svedese Alfred Nilsson e il belga Xavier Handsaeme, vincitore in Portogallo.

GOLDSTEIN Le Belge Elie Goldstein a mené la préfinale et la finale, mais s’est fait coiffer sur le fil à deux reprises. 5e du Trophée Académie 2016, le petit-fils du quintuple Champion du Monde François Goldstein ne manque vraiment pas de potentiel.
Belgian Elie Goldstein led the pre-final and the final, but was pipped on both occasions. Five-time world champion François Goldstein’s grandson who was fifth in the 2016 Academy Trophy doesn’t lack talent.

ATMOSPHERE
Fiers d’accueillir le Championnat du Monde KZ sur leur circuit de Kristianstad, les organisateurs emmenés par Tobias Groth ont su donner de l’envergure à leur meeting. Bravo à eux, d’autant que le public a répondu présent. Les absents ont eu tort ! The organisers led by Tobias Groth were proud to host the KZ World Championship on their circuit, and they gave their event an extra dimension: the FIA flag arrived by parachute! Congratulations to them, all the more so as spectators turned up in droves. Those who didn’t missed a great event!
Orgogliosa di ospitare il Campionato del Mondo KZ Kristianstad sul loro circuito, gli organizzatori guidati da Tobias Groth sono stati in grado di dare un importante spazio al loro incontro. Complimenti a loro, tanto più che il pubblico ha risposto presenti. Assenti erano sbagliate!
3e du Championnat du Monde en 1979, le Néerlandais Harm Schuurmann a retrouvé le premier kart suédois et a réussi à fouler le circuit de Kristianstad. Tout un symbole !
Dutchman Harm Schuurmann who finished third in the 1979 World Championship found the first Swedish kart and lapped the Kristianstad circuit in it – a symbol if ever there was one!
