INTRODUCING SCRATCH

Scratch the rat is a big graffiti youth. He is very into urban culture, and spends most of his megre paycheck on different coloured spray cans.

His actual name he was given when he was born was Pint, but he prefers the name Scratch (taken from the italian word ‘Graffito’ meaning Scratched. His Grandma is Italian. He likes to pretend he is related to the Mafia.)

Scratch is enrolled to a school, but at this point has been truant for so long he couldn’t tell you what grade he should be in. His dad struggles to stay in contact with him, due his constant moving around and the change he has

taken from his birthname. However, they don’t take much interest in his disappearance, due the distraction of caring for his 14 other youngers siblings. (Two are from the same litter as him, the rest born from a different mother)

He loves to take day trips and visit other cities such as Brighton, and walk around taking inspiration from all the types of graffiti he sees there.

Scratch enjoys Reggae, chill Indie and Acid house. Thanks to his large collection of friends within the music industry, he is lucky enough to get free tickets to a lot of events if he

asks around hard enough. He tends to listen to his music by carrying a small potable speeaker around in his backpack, annoyingly enough to everyone around him. He says that headphones don’t co-operate well with his big ears.

Scratch hopes to build up his skills, and eventually save up enough money to take a course on set design. He wants to paint stages for music festivals and events, as well maybe create his own brand, but part of him feels like this is an impossible dream.

10

He is currently living in a little shack in a derelict surberbian garden, and has stayed here the longest than any other. It feels safe, and he has even planted some peas in anticipation to stick around for a lot longer.

Sometimes Scratch parties a little too hard, but HE is only a young fella.
