Kaos calendar of events FRIDAY, JULY 20TH: National Date Today: ●

National Moon Day:​ On July 20, 1969, Apollo 11 landed the first humans, Americans Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, on the moon. Together they collected 47.5 pounds of lunar material to bring back to Earth. Michael Collins piloted Apollo 11 and remained alone in orbit until Armstrong and Aldrin returned. Watched by millions, the event was broadcast on live TV to a worldwide audience and all witnessed as Armstrong stepped onto the lunar surface and described the event as “one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”

Disney's Mary Poppins Jr:​ 10am and 7pm at Timberline High School, 6120 Mullen Rd SE, Lacey. Mary Poppins is the story of the Banks family who lives in a big house in London on Cherry Lane. Things are not going well for the family, the children, Jane and Michael, are out of control and are in need of a new nanny. When a mysterious woman named Mary Poppins appears at their doorstep, the family finds that she’s the answer to their prayers, but in the most peculiar way. Cruise At The Creek:​ 3pm at Little Creek Casino Resort, 91 West State Route 108, Shelton. The Annual Cruise At The Creek Car Show Presented by Little Creek Casino Resort will be bigger, better, with more power than previous years, featuring live music, food. Pink Party: Rosé Tasting:​ 5 - 8pm at the Speakeasy Salon, Spa & Bistro, 325 4th Ave E, Olympia. You're invited to try a premier selection of Rosé from France, Argentina, Italy, and Oregon. Wear your pinkest getup and get ready to have some fun. The Crushers Softball Game:​ 6 - 7pm at Regional Athletic Complex, 8345 Steilacoom Rd SE, Olympia. Legally Blonde Jr.:​ 6 - 7pm at The United Churches of Olympia, 110 11th Ave SE, Olympia. Based on the award-winning Broadway musical and the smash hit motion picture, Legally Blonde. The show's instantly recognizable songs are filled with humor, wit, and sass – leaving cast members and audiences alike seeing pink! The King:​ 6:30 - 8:30pm at Capitol Theater, 206 5th Ave SE, Olympia. Forty years after the death of Elvis Presley, a musical road trip across America in his 1963 Rolls Royce explores how a country boy lost his authenticity and became a king while his country lost her democracy and became an empire. James and the Giant Peach Jr.:​ 7 - 8:30pm at A G West Black Hills High School, 7741 Littlerock Rd SW, Olympia. An orphan, who lives with his two cruel aunts, befriends anthropomorphic bugs who live inside a giant peach, and they embark on a journey to New York City. FanatiCon 2018:​ 7 - 10pm at the Tumwater Timberland Library, 7023 New Market St SW, Tumwater. This year we are introducing our very own Artist Alley where you can buy handmade art created by local teens! All ages will be allowed in Artist Alley, otherwise, this is a teen only event until 9 pm, at which time all ages are welcome to be spectators at the cosplay fashion show!
