I LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE II GRAPHIC DESIGN III OTHER WORK
LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE In 2018 I gained a Master’s degree in landscape architecture. During my studies I acquired the ability to elaborate planting and landscape schemes and plan construction work, elaborate inventories and estimate costs, gained skills in computer programming, preparation and maintenance of spatial data and management of administration procedures for less complex spatial interventions. Since then I worked on several architecture competitions in Slovenia and abroad. In January 2018 I moved to Stockholm where I worked as a Junior architect and further developed my skills in landscape and urban planning. Since 2019 I’m a part of ladscape architecture firm named Kolektiv Tektonika.

XIANGMIHU LAKE DISTRICT Xiangmihu area is located in the Shenzhen river valley, and has great potential to be developed into major green corridor, connecting Tanglang mountains in the North to Shenzhen Bay in the South. Xiangmi Lake, with its 28 ha water surface surrounded by large green area, serves as a catalyst for this new green corridor in the city.

HLEMMUR SQUARE Lively Hlemmur project looks for ways in which a new square can build on and strengthen the qualities of the existing public space. Taking inspiration from the existing Food Hall, we propose a collection of sheltered, programmed rooms in combination with open shared spaces that form a complementary indoor and outdoor public meeting point.
THE TRADITIONAL SQUARE A traditional square is defined by its relationship to its edges and program
HLEMMUR’S CONDITION Today, Hlemmur square lacks structure, identity and reasons to use the space.
LIVELY HLEMMUR New program can bring energy and life to the square, while creating new and exciting edges to activate the in between spaces.
History -2m
THE FOOD HALL Hlemmur’s biggest asset is the Food Hall. A vibrant local and citywide landmark. What can we learn from this successful urban generator?
TWO IS BETTER THAN ONE Due to the upcoming roadway reconfiguration, Hlemmur square will soon become bigger. We start by doubling the Food Hall’s program surface to take use of the newly acquired space.
ADAPTING TO CONTEXT Without the limitations of a building envelope, our square program can be placed freely.

THE SOUL OF HLEMMUR The new program diversifies the experience of the square, bringing novel activities such as sports, bike repair and food gardens.
SHELTERED SPACES To maximise the enjoyment and usability of the space, the new program is wrapped in protective skins that create pleasant microclimates in unpleasant weather.
LIVELY HLEMMUR The result is a square that strengthens the existing qualities of Hlemmur, introduces fun, shared activities and attracts people in all seasons and weather!

MURSKA SOBOTA CITY CENTRE Small Slovenian cities have been going through a similar process of urban development. They have been growing from deliberate decisions of pre-war industrialization and urban development towards unwise and uncontrolled expansion of housing and industry along the city edges. At the same time, the importance of car transit grew bigger and bigger, taking over large areas of public space.

RAKOVA JELŠA SOCIAL HOUSING The aim was to provide rational and simple low-cost housing for those who need it, while still affording them the dignity of well designed and distinctive homes with quality open spaces. The identity of the area creates its extensive greening and the creation of an open space in such a way that it allows spontaneous use (kindergartens, children’s play ...), which is incorporated into the open space design in an unobtrusive way.

PRODUCTIVE DYNAMIC LANDSCAPE Murska Sobota in Slovenia started to develop as a city by its fields. The food production and the life in the city corresponded to each other and now this connection is lost. By representing productive landscape on the outskirts of the city we are reclaiming what was lost and also introducing new content. On the site there once was a big clothes production factory Mura that went bankrupt and now all we have left are big abandoned places. Here we saw a potential in food production on the fields and food processing in the degraded areas.

GUNPOWDER PARK KIK Recreational park with an emphasis on the technical heritage of the site is the only logical solution to bring an old abandoned factory closer to people. Rich ambient provides design opportunities narrated by history and ready for the future use. Abandoned industrial ruins by themselves can remind us of economic decline, but when transformed into a post industrial park they can become an image of awe and wonder.

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE: INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP
2015
Project team: Students of Architecture and Landscape from Ljubljana and Münster Mentor: SADAR + VUGA, AKKA Location: Ljubljana, Slovenia
SPORTS PARK STOŽICE The international student workshop held in Arena Stožice in Ljubljana. Participants included 9 students of architecture and landscape architecture from Ljubljana and 13 students of architecture from Münster. Stožice sports park was a big project in Ljubljana, but due to financial crisis it is now partly abandoned and unfinished. Even though abandoned, the space itself is poetic. We have mapped the spatial situation of the unfinished sports park and suggested the minimal interventions required in order to secure the safety and the immediate public use of the site. The workshop concluded with ideas for new content and uses on the 80.000m2 area that would either replace or add to the planned shopping centre. The workshop discovers the beauty and spatial values of the unfinished construction work of the sports park Stožice, proposes possible content and identifies those essential minimum measures necessary to open up the entire space for public use.

GRAPHIC DESIGN In September 2014 I graduated at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and acquired a bachelor’s degree in study of Graphic and Interactive Communications. In addition to knowledge in the field of graphic, media and interactive communications, I gained the knowledge about graphic technology and graphic material used in the design and manufacturing of graphic products. I mastered the basics of visual and art language, techniques of artistic expression and ways of interpreting and designing the products’ art scheme.

WAYFINDING ON A CEMETERY The aim of the thesis was to make an open space signage system based on a certain model of a cemmetery in Komenda. The signage system was designed with the help of sketches and computer programs. The usefulness of the signs was checked with a prototype which was placed in the actual space. The prototype has shown that the signage system is suitably designed. The signs are legible and are noticeable enough for a cemmetery in Komenda. With a signage system like that, the visitors would be better informed, and would spend less time navigating.

TYPE DESIGN Deborah is a sans serif typeface family made in 2014. It was made so it can be used both in body text as in larger sizes, where some original traits appeare. The diagonally cut endings make the type unique but still do not disturb the readability. The classical proportions give the font otherwise familiar harmony and elegance.

OTHER WORK In the past I have realized that the studies of graphic and interactive communications represented too small of a challenge for me. Despite the fact that I passed all the exams successfully and at the designated time frame, the lectured topics never interested me so much that I would try to deepen, upgrade or expand my knowledge. In landscape architecture I found a much greater motivation and spark for exploring and discovering things that are not provided only by the faculty.
