Entering the second half of the third period with a 3-1 lead, it looked like the Kanata Stallions had their season-opening game all wrapped up against the Kemptville 73’s. That couldn’t have been any further from the case. Soon after the half-way mark, Kemptville forwards Brandon Lesway, Alex Brenton, and Daniel Lacroix scored within 2:21 of each other to turn a two-goal deficit into a 4-3 73’s win at the Kanata Recreational Complex during Day 1 of the CHL Showcase. “We kept attacking,” 73’s head coach Pat Malloy said of his team’s philosophy after scoring the equalizer.
