“Dreams Come True” The 2014 Rose Parade theme Dreams Come True. This year’s theme is a reminder that not only is it possible to attain the seemingly unattainable through extraordinary focus, effort, and belief in the probability of success, but that we’ve done it! Throughout all of human history, we’ve achieved the impossible by believing in the power of our dreams and boldly pursuing our goals. This year’s parade is a tribute to a world of dreams that have come true as a result of imagination, passion, creativity, and hard work. They are celebrated in the small triumph of a child who wins her first spelling bee, or a team of scientists who can take us to the moon. Whatever the dream, large or small, intimate or shared, dreams fuel the stories of our lives. Dreams Come True is also a banner for a yearlong celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Rose Parade and the 100th Rose Bowl Game, spectacular examples of experiences where Dreams Come True. The game, the best of the best in magnificent competitive form, and the parade, the pinnacle of imaginative artistic expression in the realization of parade floats and the opportunity to march or ride down our celebrated route – these are truly the places where Dreams Come True. Dreams Come True is rich with possibilities to create visually stunning stories that exude relevant messages about the thrill of competition, the pursuit of excellence, the celebration of beauty, and the pride of unmatched accomplishment. The floral design palette of this parade theme can expressed equally well in the imagery of fantasy, sports, family, adventure, art, education and community, or in the celebration of events that have had, and are still having, global impact.

K9s4COPs

A federal 501(c)(3) non-profit that was founded in 2010 and is dedicated to providing K9s, trained and ready for action, to law enforcement agencies and school districts in need.

OUR IMPACT

K9s4COPs has gifted over 50 K9s to 23 law enforcecment agencies in nine states. These K9 Units are in school districts, police departments, Sheriff’s departments and Constable Offices in your community.

OUR STORY

K9s4COPs began with a news story about K9 Blek, who was killed in the line of duty while pursuing three armed suspects with K9 handler Deputy Ted Dahlin with Harris County Constable PCT #4 . The story continued with the county agency’s inability to purchase a new K9 due to budget cuts. K9s4COPs was formed so that budgets would never be an issue in keeping our schools and communities safe.

NUMBERS AT A GLANCE

K9s cost between $10,000 to $15,000 and are trained to locate narcotics, explosives and weapons. They apprehend suspects on command and are the reason many officers make it home at night. Here are just a few statisitics: K9 Boomer confiscated $500,000 in narcotics. K9 Jack confiscated $234,000 in cash in one night. K9 Tommy apprehended 14 suspects.

The numbers speak for themselves.
