Tri-Island Grand Tour Why not combine the beautiful Mediterranean islands of Sicily, Sardinia and Corsica into one holiday? Sardinia is approximately 220 miles from Sicily (Trapani to Cagliari) and can be reached by a short flight or longer ferry crossing. Corsica is 8 miles north of Sardinia accessed by a 50 minute ferry journey from Santa Teresa on the northern tip of Sardinia to Bonifacio in southern Corsica. This is a great opportunity to visit 3 equally beautiful and relatively unspoilt islands, all of which have rugged mountains, stunning scenery and a selection of beautiful beaches and bays. This is just one suggested itinerary, but we can tailor make tours to suit all tastes, budgets and durations. Sicily - Day 1:
Corsica - Day 11:
Fly from the UK to Palermo on the north coast of Sicily and drive to San Vito Lo Capo for 5 nights B&B at Baglio La Porta (see website, quick link 85), situated in a secluded hillside position enjoying wonderful views over the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Travel to Santa Teresa port (50km) and take the ferry to Bonifacio in Corsica. Pick up a hire car and drive 75km to Hotel La Solenzara (p120) on the east coast of Corsica for 5 nights B&B, located close to the lively seaside village and marina of Solenzara, this charming hotel is a converted 18th century Genoesestyle ‘maison de maître’.
Sardinia - Day 6: Fly from Palermo to Olbia in the north east of Sardinia for 5 nights HB at Club Hotel Baia Sardinia (p12) enjoying wonderful sea views, direct beach access and a choice of restaurants for a relaxing holiday on the Costa Smeralda.
Summary: • In and out of Palermo, Sicily and into Olbia, Sardinia and out of Figari, Corsica.
