The crystal perfume bottle shown in Figure 7.9 could have easily worked as a lone subject, but adding a pile of acrylic ice crystals to either side added weight and interest to the image, while not drawing attention away from the main subject. To light this image I used a SmithVictor 200ix FlashLite bounced from a white wall through white Plexiglas. A Nikon SB-800 Speedlight was bounced from a reflector placed camera left and a black card was placed to the right of the subject to reinforce the dark lines.
