Schoology and PowerSchool are the primary tools used by faculty and staff to communicate academic progress. Progress reports and quarter and semester grades are not mailed home. It is expected that students and parents will make extensive use of Schoology and PowerSchool to remain informed about academic progress; parents should check student academic progress though PowerSchool every two weeks at a minimum. Please note that access to PowerSchool is closed temporarily at the end of grading periods and is reopened when grades are finalized. REGULAR COMMUNICATION A valid parent email account which is checked regularly is REQUIRED of all families. Students will have a school email account and are expected to check it at least every 24 hours on school days. Computer access at school is available to those families without internet access at home; parents in need of this access should contact the school for more information. Email is the preferred method of communication; all Justin-Siena employees have email addresses that begin with first initial followed by last name @justin-siena.org. Voice mail extensions may be found on the school website (www.justin-siena.org) under Directory. You may also click on the employee’s name in this directory to be linked to email.

A weekly phone message from the Principal is sent on Sunday evenings to the home phone on record; transcripts are subsequently posted on the school website. Periodic, important all-school emails are sent to the home email on record. The Braves Bulletin and Braves Bites, the school’s bi-weekly newsletters, are sent to the primary and secondary email addresses on record and archived on the website. Daily student announcements are made at the beginning of second period and posted on Schoology. REPORT CARDS Semester report cards can be viewed by using PowerSchool Parent Portal. Physical semester report cards are not mailed home but are available by request only for those who do not have ready access to the Internet. Contact the Director of Academic Services or the Assistant for Academic Services for assistance. Student progress at the quarter can be viewed by using PowerSchool Parent Portal. Quarter grades are not official (except for CIF purposes—see the Athletics section) and will not be posted on student transcripts. Grades noted on semester report cards are official and final. These grades are a part of the student's transcript and will be reported to colleges and universities. Student academic information may only be accessed by school officials, students, parents, and legal guardians.
