SMART HOUSE On the second semester of 2011, my professor of Architectural Design asked students to make a project of a sustainable house for a particular client. Mine was a Designer, so I thought his house should be different and creative. The project's concept is a reinterpretation of the landscape, inspired by its curves. So my idea for this house is an ellipse, a figure with curves, so the house would be different from common houses with straight lines. The Ellipse is present in all building's volume, which is composed by the first and second floors and by the reservatory of water. For sustainability I planned to use solar power and solar heating. Moreover I gave attention to the reuse of water, by using a toilet combined with a sink, so the water used to wash people's hands would be reused to flush the toilet.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL This project I did in pair with a classmate, in November 2012. The objective was to Design a school for the city of Viรงosa, Brazil. The principal point of our concern was school's sectorization. So we disposed the school in the learning area (classrooms, labs), service area (refectory, library) and administrative area (direction, nursery). Those areas are composed in three buildings, which have almost a shape of an arc. A large corridor connect those buildings.

SOCIAL HOUSING The social housing should attend community necessities such as leisure and affordable houses for the citizens of Viçosa - MG, Brazil. The proposal was to build 120 apartments in a very inclinated site.

SURFACE STUDY FOR BUILDING The purpose of this study is to reimagine the skin of Crown Hall using Revit and Rhinoceros. After making a mass in Rhino, the next step was to design the panelling in Grasshopper. The main tool which helped the design process is the Chameleon plug-in, that links data from one program to another. In Revit it’s possible to create a family that will generate the panelling.

PUBLIC ARCHITECTURE The professor of CAD Systems in Architecture separated students in groups and asked them to project a public architecture that delimits urban space, promoting human interaction. It had to be designed by using a modeling program, in that case, the Rhinocerus. My group's idea for this assignment was inspired on the urban gride and on volumetry created by the buildings. The final shape of this Design is composed by two volumes. The first one is the development of our concept, referring to the city. The other one is a covering that represents the natural land, before human action on it. The internal space have many different volumes, representing the diversity of buildings found in the city.

CAFETERIA To study the effects of light, the professor of Environmental Behavior II asked students to form groups and make a mockup of any kind of place, like restaurants, living rooms, libraries, and put various types of openings for using daylight. In the cafeteria my group put a common window behind the sofa, a pergola above the counter and a tray ceiling in front of the shelfs.

9

SMALL CUBE This assignment asked for generate a cube using Rhino and Grasshopper. This cube should then be produced in a laser cutter machine.

10

LARGE CUBE The final assignment for the Avanced Architectural Computing class also asked for generate a cube using Rhino and Grasshopper. It should be made in a way that would result in abstract table and chairs. This cube should then be produced in a CNC machine.

WAVINGTON HOUSE The midterm assignment for Intro to BIM class was about modeling a house using Revit.

SERIE OF DRAWINGS - BRIDGE Serie of free hand drawings of the study about a bridge in Chicago. The cover of this portfolio is also part of this serie and it was processed with CorelDraw.

WATERCOLOR DRAWINGS Watercolor drawings made for the class of ARCH 471 - Free hand drawing. The first image below is a composition in which only primaries colors could be used. For the shadow it was permited to use black mixed with the other color. The other two drawings are part of the midterm, which consisted in choosing one building of Chicago - this is the Roosevelt University building - and then make a transformation through the use of colors.
