Judge Victoria Brennan: Legal Career Judge Victoria Brennan began her legal career, in earnest, as an Assistant State Attorney within the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office in 1989. Hired by then-State Attorney Janet Reno, Brennan served in the office for more than 13 years—four of those with Reno and the remainder under State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle.
During her tenure as Assistant State Attorney, Judge Victoria Brennan represented the State of Florida in hundreds of cases—including 73 felony jury trials (17 of which were homicides tried to conviction). For seven of the thirteen years she served as Assistant State Attorney, Brennan was a division chief—a role in which she was responsible for both training young attorneys and handling homicide cases exclusively. Brennan also managed death penalty cases during her tenure, and was briefly a part of the Organized Crime division.
Judge Brennan left the State Attorney’s office in 2003 to serve in private practice.
