Home Lands We do not inherit the land from our ancestors. We borrow it for our children. Navajo Proverb

Be still and the earth will speak to you. The red painting with its notched undulations bled into the stone wall, worn thin by snow, rain, and sun. Was this the beginning or end of a story? Or, was it simply a desire to decorate the sand-colored rock of one’s home? Do as the Navajo say and stand still to listen. You’ll hear the Ancestral Pueblo People telling their story. Be still and the earth may speak to you in the splendor of Mesa Verde, the magnificence of the Grand Canyon, the vastness of Monument Valley, and the quietness of Bandelier.
