Conclusion

The project has proven that, with a methodical approach to design paired with key organisation and effective communication as a group, an effective solution can be produced. The inclusion and referral to research alongside critical evaluation ensured the final outcome ‘UVH2GO’ stayed relevant to the initial brief. The final outcome created by the team is initially a demonstration of how to build the device. Once constructed the device will require running and maintenance which in turn is an employment opportunity. The initial product is small scale to a specific location but after the demonstration, the intention for local production creates further employment opportunities while addressing the original problem of creating a cost-effective method to sterilise water for the entire local community to readily have access to.
