Cecilia Vidigal Monteiro de Barros has been a partner in the mergers and acquisitions, infrastructure, competition and antitrust practices at Motta Fernandes since 2011. Ms Vidigal holds Doctorate, LLM and LLB degrees from the Law School of Universidade de São Paulo. Ms Vidigal is the coordinator of the Regulation Commission at IBDE (Brazilian Institute for Studies of Energy Law), member of the CBAr (Brazilian Commission for Arbitration), member of CECORE (Commission of Studies for Competition and Economic Regulation of the Brazilian Bar Association), member of IBRAC (Brazilian Institute of Studies in Competition, Consumer Relations and International Trade Law), council member of SEERIL (Section on Energy, Environment, Natural Resources and Infrastructure Law) in the IBA since 2016 and former co-chair of the International Construction Projects in the IBA during 2013 and 2015, being a recommended lawyer in The International Who’s Who Legal – Construction Law from 2012 to 2018.

Ms Vidigal recently published articles about procedures related to pre-merger control in Brazil, in the 8th and 9th editions of the ‘The Merger Control Review’ published by The Law Reviews, and in the editions from 2016, 2017 and 2018 of the ‘TerraLex Pre-Merger Notification Manual: A practical guide to understanding merger regimes in multiple jurisdictions’. Ms Vidigal also published an article about general terms related to merges and acquisitions in Brazil, in the 12th edition of the ‘The International Comparative Legal Guide to: Mergers & Acquisitions 2018’ published by the Global Legal Group. Additionally, she is the author of the article “Alternative Dispute Resolution in Brazil” to be published in the January 2019 edition of The International Construction Review; and the paper “Impact of Foreign Investment Restriction on M&A Transactions” prepared for the ABA’s conference of November 2018. Ms Vidigal speaks Portuguese, English, German and French.
