The St. James Court Art Show is a well-established art event known for attracting artists from coast to coast. This juried outdoor event attracts over 225,000 visitors to the Old Louisville neighborhood. Always held the first full weekend in October, the show hosts over 600 talented artists. This three-day event attracts an affluent and diverse demographic who value and appreciate the opportunity to meet the artists. Fifty percent of the show’s exhibiting artists have returned to St. James year after year — some for more than 30 years. The St. James Court Art Show is produced by a consortium of five neighborhood groups and a church. Each group is responsible for its own exhibit space and exhibitors, giving a unique character to each section. The St. James Court section hosts approximately 235 artists with an emphasis on fine art. This section has the largest dedicated area to showcase the approximately 50 artists who are exhibiting at St. James for the first time. The show is introducing major changes to the West End Baptist Church section in 2019. The
St. James Court Art Show, Louisville, KY Plaza is a newly created 60 x 200 tented exhibit space where a select group of creative minds have been invited to exhibit. Artist amenities include an artist reception Friday evening; booth sitters; water and snacks delivered to artists’ tents; an artist-only lounge with water, coffee, snacks, and indoor facilities; 24hour security; discounted hotel rates;
art show staff on site all weekend; friendly volunteers; and cash awards.
