Substack March Memes

Maybe it’s the rain

… maybe this year will bring a superbloom … maybe that’s why this 94-word sentence burst free while I was simply reading a Kindle prologue:

An old woman, a crazy Indian as she called herself, upon leaving her home for the last time, boards a bus, taking with her a pail of precious soil and a few seeds which, when she arrives at the place that will be her final home, she plants one by one, after wetting each seed first in her mouth, knowing that it is her spit that awakens it, telling each seed that sleeping time is done, that they are together now in growing time though she herself is now in her own dying time. — borrowed liberally from Diane Wilson’s, The Seed Keeper.

I love putting words and images together so every day this month, I’ll be sharing a meme on Substack “Notes.” However, as a paid subscriber, you get this flip book version in advance with the hope that some of the thoughts will nourish whatever you’re growing in your life.

All of the images are my own artwork or photographs. And the quotes are from ones I’ve been collecting for decades. Feel free to share with family and friends.

Wishing you an incredible March.
