I was taking the long way home. I tried to clear the image out of my head when my teacher yelled at me. Said I didn’t show any effort in school. This was not what I imagined when I moved here, to the “land of opportunity”. I was happy living my life in Africa, when my parents finally racked up enough money and decided that we’d be better off in the US. Now I’m stuck here and I have to figure out how to make the “best” of it. Not working out too well for me.
