GOOD THINGS AT APS Can you believe it's December? The years go faster and faster! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends.

I won't spoil the ending for this, but I hear it's a must see! Check it out on the History Channel.

Congratulations to Heaven. She recently graduated with her diploma from Allegan Online/Adult Education.

Proud to be a Tiger! North Ward and Mug Shots are thankful for their parents and families! Thank you to Mug Shots for donating the coffee and Thank you to the NW staff for serving coffee and hot chocolate to parents as they dropped students off on Tuesday before Thanksgiving.

Congratulations to Coaches Lamb, Lamb, Aldrich, Arthur, and Rogers for being recognized as Wolverine Conference Coaches of the Year. Great job!

When play and learning are mixed together, smiles happen!

DRESS-UP DAY — “DRESS LIKE YOUR FUTURE CAREER” Students were invited by the Dawson Student Council to dress up like their future career. We had Under-Armor Man, a character from Spider-Man, the Sun, a Falling Angel, an Agent from Star Wars, candy taster, Spider-Man, rock star, zookeepers, lawyer, rapper, and FBI Agent, a scientist, hair stylist, and a teacher! Our “teacher” even got to give her class their spelling test today!

We love our students’ imagination and appreciate their participation with these events!

We are in good hands with Breanna in the building! Breanna is an AAHS student and she is loving the Emergency Medical Services program at The Allegan Tech Center.

The Buists are amazing people! Laura Feffer reached out and asked if they could help supply some students in need with various winter clothes and a few hours later they show up with their arms full!

Mrs. Muenzer and a group of students made ornaments to decorate a tree at Camp Kidwell.

The students in Mr. Turner’s Student Leaders class led all sorts of amazing events including Bubble Soccer, boys' volleyball, and more, to help our students have fun, raise funds for a cause, and gather food for those in need.

Allegan Students Participate in the Lakeshore NEA Big Read Students in Mrs. Calvert’s and Ms. McLaren’s ELA Studies classes participated in the Lakeshore’s NEA Big Read Program through Hope College. In collaboration with several other school districts, in multiple counties, students read the novel Before We Were Free. As part of the program, students worked closely with artist Erick Picardo on creating a visual theme to the novel. Students visually depicted the theme: “freedom isn’t free” with a tool booth to freedom, caged butterflies, and a collage of paintings. Their artwork was on display at The Student Exhibition of Learning at the Holland Armory where guests from all over appreciated their hard work. Celebrating the finished project, students proudly visited their work on display in the exhibit at the opening night gala.

Students across the district celebrated Thanksgiving. Some younger students mentioned this was their first time trying turkey and mashed potatoes. Thanks to all the staff, parents, and community members who helped make this possible for all of our students!

Tiger Pride The Allegan Tech Center Health program students competed in the Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) regional competition on November 22. Many of our students earned awards and qualified for State.
